French captain Kylian Mbappe signs deal with Real Madrid amid a lot of speculations. Upon La Liga transfer window 1st July 2024, Mbappe, 25, will move to Spain.
Earlier in the year, Mbappe had hinted that he would leave Paris Saint-Germain after the end of contract. Even as he leaves the club, he remains as the club’s all-time record goals scorer.
Mbappe will receive £85 Million bonus after he leaves PSG where he joined 2018 at a cost of £166 Million. Since he joined PSG from Monaco where he was on loan, he has scored 256 goals. The France international has scored 255 goals in 306 games for PSG, winning Ligue 1, the top division in France, six times with the club — including this season. He fought hard for his national team during the world-cup final with Argentina 2022.
His deal deal with Real Madrid will go up to 2029. This deal would earn him 15m euros (£12.8m) a season, plus a 150m euro (£128m) signing-on bonus to be paid over five years, and he will keep a percentage of his image right.
His entry into Real Madrid will give him chance to play alongside Luka Modric, Croation midfielder who is set to sign a one-year extension with the club.
According to analysts, Kylian Mbappe’s transfer to Madrid is the most anticipated in the football history. This is because Spanish club had interest in him for long. Madrid attempted to sign deal with Mbappe in 2022 but the striker who was on loan renewed the deal.
Summarily, Mbappe has won 15 trophies across his spell in the France capital, including six Ligue 1 titles. However, Mbappe did not win the Champions League trophy at PSG — losing to Bayern Munich in the club’s only final appearance in 2019-20.
