Argentina Heads to 2022 World cup Finals

Argentina in 2022 World Cup Finals

Argentina exhibited a unique play when they faced 2018 runners-up Croatia on 13th December 2022. The two-time world cup champion started with a penalty by Lionel Messi which inspired the team. Enzo Fernandez played Alvarez through on goal with a gorgeous defense-splitting pass. The forward rammed with an onrushing Dominik Livakovic which resulted to the penalty. Although Croatia seemed to dominate in the first time of the match, the situation changed later, sending Croatia to a full-time result of 3-0.

Argentina’s head coach Lionel Scaloni said he had spotted a weakness in their opening game when they lost to Saudi Arabia 2-1 which came as a shock. After this loss, the team has never been defeated and it aims at taking home the cup as they head to the 2022 world cup finals.

Argentina has won the world cup in 1986 when they played with Germany. Another win was in 1978, a match against the Netherlands. Their effort to get to the finals sends a message of determination to win the tournament.

Argentina Win

Having sent Croatia home, Argentina will meet with either France or Morocco on Sunday 18th December 2022. Argentina has been runners-up three times since the start of the tournament. They lost in 1930 after they were thrashed by Uruguay. That position was replicated in 1990 when they were defeated by Germany and in 2014, they lost to the Germans again. Will they be runners up again?

What will the Finals mean to Argentina?

Getting to the tail end of the tournament is not a mere achievement for either team. They are all equal to the task with an equal chance of winning. With that said, Argentina should pray hard that Morocco does miracles by defeating France. This is because Morocco’s game is closely equal to that of Croatia. They defend a lot with less pressure on striking compared to Argentina. Despite the confidence the head coach has in the team, he has to put the house in order and ensure no gap exists for him to take home the cup.

Getting to finals only should not make Argentina happy because they have been there before. Instead, they should strive as much as possible to own the title which is currently in France. For Morocco to be in the finals should be celebrated, not only by their country but also by the entire continent.

Will Messi Do what Diego Maradona did in 1986?

With all his achievements and being GOAT, will he outperform a historic legend? This is the question that will get the answer on Sunday when the final whistle will be blown. The 35-year-old is ripe for the win after losing to the Germans in 2014. He has scored in most matches in Qatar during this tournament and this sends a strong signal that the future maybe bright for the two-time champions.

The do-or-die world cup final action will be live in many television channels. However, if you will be away from your screen you can click here to watch live streaming of the game free of charge.
